As an old coach inn, the
Clachnaharry Inn has been keeping punters happy ever since it was
first given a licence in 1836. Situated on the banks of the
Caledonian Canal, the Clachnaharry Inn has established itself as a
pub synonymous with great beer, great food and great Highland
Hospitality. With a huge range of ever changing cask and real
ales, there is always a wide selection on offer, ranging from the
established favourites to some of the tremendous local brews of
Inverness and the Black Isle. |

In fact, so good is the
Real Ale that the Clachnaharry has won the Inverness & Highland
CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2000 - 2003 and 2005 - 2007, as well as the
Scottish CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2001. On the food front, the
affordable selection of traditional Scottish fayre has also helped
in confirming ourselves as a winner with locals and tourists alike,
particularly during the summer months when the views of the Canal
and the Beauly Firth can be enjoyed from the Beer Garden which can
seat up to 40 people.
The
Clachnaharry Inn was recently re-acquired by George Maclean, who
first purchased the pub in 1975. In fact, his son Ross is also a
partner in the business nowadays – incidentally, he was born in
November 1977, on the very day that the pub won its first award
under Maclean stewardship… So here’s hoping that we can add another
one to the mantelpiece in 2004! Now that the pub is back under new
ownership, there are some fairly major refurbishment plans in place.
The emphasis will still remain on continuing to put our customer
first and producing quality ales and superb food, but we are looking
to upgrade the lounge area and do some work to make the beer garden
even better! |
